Penne Rigate with Turkey, Swiss Chard
and Walnuts

Penne Rigate with Turkey, Swiss Chard and Walnuts

Break the rye bread and mayo routine. Give this delicious Dreamfields “2 days after turkey day” pasta recipe a try. It’s our gift of thanks to you for being a Dreamfields Pasta lover.

Ingredients:
16 ounces Dreamfields Penne Rigate Pasta
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 cups onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound turkey dark meat, chopped (or ground turkey)
1/2 cup jarred sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained and chopped
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
5 cups Swiss chard, chopped
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions:
  1. Prepare Dreamfields Pasta according to package directions. 
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions, garlic and turkey meat and cook for 5 minutes. Add the sun-dried tomatoes, cayenne pepper, walnuts, salt, Swiss chard and chicken broth. Stir well to combine ingredients and cook for about 5 minutes, until the Swiss chard is wilted and sauce begins to thicken.
  3. Combine the turkey and Swiss chard mixture with the cooked pasta and toss. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve.
