- Read your ingredients. Labels can be tricky. Low carb products may
be high in fat and fat free products may be high in carbs or calories.
Find a balance.
- Watch your sodium intake. Especially you women out there! This is a
hidden demon. No matter how much you watch your fat, calories, carbs,
etc., a high sodium product will cause bloating.
- Eat slowly. Take your time with your meal. Your stomach can be full
before your brain registers it, so we all tend to overeat. To help slow
eating down, drink water in between bites of food. You'll feel fuller
faster and you'll enjoy your meal more.
- Snack in portions. If you want a snack in between meals, set a sensible
portion aside. Avoid eating out of a bag or a box. Before you know it
you have lost perspective of how much you have eaten.
- Drink lots of water! This is the oldest trick in the book because it
works! This will help prevent you from dehydration and bloating. It will
also help you feel fuller faster.
- Don't be afraid of pasta. Especially if it is low in carbs and tastes
great, like Dreamfields Pasta!
