Enjoy Pasta and Help Control Blood Sugar

Many of us have a BFF (Best Friend Forever) that we look to for laughs, encouragement and support. But those with diabetes or pre-diabetes also need someone who can be a friend and understand the diabetic lifestyle. That’s what we call a DFF – Diabetes Friend Forever.

DFFs are friends, family members, caregivers, and healthcare professionals who make a difference in the lives of those living with diabetes. They are teachers, counselors, coaches, and best friends to some of the 81 million Americans who have diabetes or
pre-diabetes today.

To honor these unsung heroes, Dreamfields Pasta is sponsoring a first-of-its-kind program to pay tribute to the special people who help make living with diabetes a manageable experience. Nominate that special someone in your life or a loved-one's life now.

Tell us a story about a DFF who has helped you or a loved one understand, manage, and live with diabetes. Each week through April 2010, one story will be highlighted on this website as the DFF of the Week. If your nomination is chosen, you and your DFF may score one of 19 DFF award packages consisting of up to $10,000 in cash and/or healthy Dreamfields pasta. Celebrity spokesperson Sherri Shepherd knows first-hand how important diabetes management can be. Her mother passed away from diabetes complications at the age of 41. Thankfully for Sherri, she has Diabetes Friends Forever who have stood by her every step of the way since being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2007.
